Description

The Aiwen mango is currently one of the highest-yielding varieties, with a slightly flattened, elongated shape resembling a long egg. It has a deep red skin and pale yellow flesh, with a small seed, minimal fibers, and a delicate texture, also known as the "Apple Mango." This type of mango is cultivated on the hillsides of Fangshan in Pingtung, Taiwan. The fruits ripen naturally on the trees, and the ripening process is not induced by directly spraying the plant growth regulator Ethrel on the leaves, which is known as "in-tree ripening."

These mangoes don't all ripen simultaneously, and manual harvesting is required, carefully picking from one tree to another. Upon arrival, when you open the box, you'll find mangoes with an orange-red hue, emitting a fragrant aroma, and displaying a fully ripe appearance with visible fruit jelly. They are high in sweetness and have finely textured flesh, making them suitable for sweet-toothed fruit enthusiasts.

Farmers mention that their mangoes meet strict quality control and residual toxicity standards in Japan, making them popular in the Japanese market. This export-grade quality is usually not found in supermarkets or traditional markets, as most of the produce is sold through direct sales by farmers on the internet. If you see them, you should grab them quickly as they sell out fast!
