【About Tea Seed Oil】
Tea seed oil comes from the seeds of the Camellia oleifera tree, a small evergreen tree in the Camellia genus. Known as tea seed oil, it is one of the world's four major woody edible oils and is referred to as the "olive oil of the East." Tea seed oil is ideal for postpartum women and those with digestive issues. It is even better than olive oil, as it has a higher smoke point, making it suitable for frying, cooking, sautéing, and making dressings. It contains higher levels of unsaturated fatty acids and zero cholesterol, making it a healthy and delicious choice.
Currently, there are two types of tea trees cultivated in Taiwan: the cultivated large-fruited variety and the wild small-leaved variety, also known as small-fruited tea trees.
【About Dongyi Selection】
Hualien's young farmer, Lin Yizhou, inspired by the food oil crisis, decided to pursue a career in oil production right after graduating from high school. While still in university, he founded Dongyi Selection Tea Seed Oil, aiming to produce the best tea seed oil in Eastern Taiwan. After years of hard work, he obtained an international oil taster certification and received numerous international awards. He is widely known as the “Prince of Tea Seed Oil.”
