Our Jing Mai Ripe Pu-Erh Cake is made from tea trees averaging 100-year-old, growing wild on the slopes of the famous, protected Jing Mai Mountains in Yunnan. These old-growth trees grow naturally, without the use of pesticides.
This Old-Tree Ripe Pu-Erh offers sweet stream and forest aromas. Pleasant, mellow flavors are balanced with notes of plum and a smooth, sweet finish. Its maocha (loose, unfinished tea leaves) was harvested in 2011, and the cakes were pressed in 2014.
About aging:
CC Fine Tea’s Pu-Erh Cakes have all been aged for at least 9 years, and are ready to be enjoyed, or collected for further aging. Additional storage for up to 5-10 years will result in a deeper color, smoother flavor, and increase the tea’s value! Cake weight may have slightly decreased, due to years of aging, with a few grams of moisture released.
