Mô tả

Sun Moon Lake Ruby Red Tea, made by rolling and twisting whole tea leaves.

The area around Sun Moon Lake in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, is an important production area for Taiwan Tea No. 18 - Ruby Red Tea. Derived from a blend of Assam Red Tea and Taiwan wild mountain tea, the whole tea leaves are rolled and twisted to create a tea with a naturally fragrant cinnamon aroma and a subtle hint of mint after brewing. The tea has a clear broth, a mellow taste, and is ideal for pure enjoyment.

The origin of Taiwan's tea culture dates back to the Japanese colonial period, and the No. 18 tea variety originated from that time. Introduced by the Japanese from the Assam province in India, this large-leaf tea variety thrived in the climate and geographical conditions around Sun Moon Lake, making the Yuchi Township in Sun Moon Lake a major production area for Assam Red Tea. Through successful breeding at the tea improvement station, the native Taiwanese mountain tea was crossbred with Assam Red Tea, resulting in the "Taiwan Tea No. 18." Known for its vibrant red color when brewed, it earned the name "Ruby Red Tea" and has become a highly regarded top-quality red tea in the Chinese-speaking world, securing an irreplaceable position in the international tea market.

Cultivated in a natural environment, the tea trees, nurtured with spring water, are grown without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers. The quality of the Ruby Red Tea cultivated by Ms. Wang in Sun Moon Lake is outstanding, and she has been awarded the Excellent Award in the 2016 Sun Moon Lake Ruby Red Tea Evaluation. Ms. Wang insists on handpicking one bud and two leaves and uses pressed soybean cake as fertilizer, allowing the tea tree trimmings to cover the soybean cake, returning completely to nature. No herbicides are used, and the tea trees are grown naturally amidst green grass, creating a symbiotic relationship where insects flutter and insects fly between them. In winter, to quench the tea trees' thirst and maintain soil moisture, farmers work hard every day to transport sweet mountain spring water to help the tea trees thrive. Growing up drinking pure mountain spring water, the tea trees are healthy and safe.
